East Hertfordshire District Council has a long-standing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces Covenant - a promise to treat former members of the armed forces and their families with fairness and respect.

Thousands of organisations have signed the covenant, including local councils, businesses, universities and charities.

We have been a bronze award supporter of the covenant since 2022, reflecting our commitment to recognising the unique skills and attributes former members of the armed forces can bring to the workplace. We were pleased to presently in the process of applying for the silver award.

Our covenant commitment

We welcome job applications from across the armed forces community, including:

• veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick)
• reservists
• cadet instructors
• military spouses/partners
