Climate Change and Sustainability Project Officer
Location: Hertford / hybrid working

Contract Type: Full-time, 18 months fixed term

Have you got the drive and energy to makes things happen? Can you help us identify and negotiate opportunities to achieve our climate change, air quality, active travel and biodiversity goals through partnership and engagement with the public, private and voluntary sectors? If so, we want you on our team!

At East Herts Council, we're driving an ambitious agenda to build a greener, cleaner and more sustainable future. As our new Climate Change and Sustainability Project Officer, you’ll be at the heart of this mission—turning bold strategies into meaningful action across the district.

What You’ll Do

  • Enable real change: Identify and deliver projects that reduce carbon emissions, improve air quality, promote biodiversity and encourage active travel.
  • Build collaborative partnerships: Network across the public, private and voluntary sectors to unlock innovation and resources, while supporting and inspiring individuals and groups to drive sustainability at the grassroots level.
  • Communicate with impact: Help shape the narrative on sustainability across East Herts through engaging campaigns, briefings and outreach.
